Maybe you need a photo of someone or you need to use a particular song&#8211;whatever it is, it&#8217;s important to give credit where credit is due. In other words, it&#8217;s not super cool to steal others&#8217; work. Ethics are important. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thankfully, there are guidelines in place to make sure work is properly attributed while still allowing creators to create. These guidelines are widely known as <strong>Creative Commons licenses<\/strong>, and each one has a different meaning. Check out the info below to see what license you need to best attribute borrowed work the next time you start creating. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Types of Licenses<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>CC BY<ul><li>You can distribute, remix, adapt, and build upon others&#8217; work, including commercially, <strong>as long as credit is given<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>CC BY-SA<ul><li>All permissions of a CC BY but you must also license your new creations <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">under the identical terms<\/span> as the original creator.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>CC BY-ND<ul><li>You may reuse others&#8217; work for any purpose, including commercially <strong>but<\/strong> it <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">cannot be shared with others in adapted form, and credit must be provided<\/span> to the original creator.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>CC BY-NC<ul><li>You may remix, adapt, and build upon others&#8217; work <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">non-commercially<\/span> and must <strong>also<\/strong> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">acknowledge the original creator<\/span> <strong>but<\/strong> you don\u2019t have to license your derivative works on the same terms. <\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>CC BY-NC-SA<ul><li>You may remix, adapt, and build upon others&#8217; work <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">non-commercially<\/span>, as long as you <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">credit the creator<\/span> <strong>and<\/strong> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">license their new creations under identical terms<\/span>.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>BY CC-NC-ND<ul><li>You can <strong>only<\/strong> download others&#8217; work and share it <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">if you credit them<\/span>.
